Born January 22, 1926 in a small coal mining town, she cherished her family and her home state of West Virginia. Aside from her son, she unapologetically favored each generation more than the last, her latest focus being her great-great-granddaughter, Natasha.
Bea, a generally particular individual, worked as a nurse for many years and disinfected every surface she encountered, leaving a trail of wet paper towels and Clorox wipes in her wake wherever she went.
She had a love of cooking and baking and never wrote down a complete recipe. Her homemade cornbread, biscuits, and cakes were legendary, and for many years she even created beautifully customized birthday and wedding cakes for and with her loved ones.
Beulah Mae was never short on stories and would occasionally shock you with casual retellings of outrageous tales from her youth. She wielded a sharp wit and a unique sass that made every conversation fun.
She was fierce and funny and endlessly caring. She was a trusted confidant to many friends and family members and a second mother to her grandchildren.
Beulah will be sorely missed and is survived by her son, John Varnado (Regina), grandson Steve Varnado (Alisa), granddaughter Andrea Greenberg (Jeff), great-grandchildren Kayla Sing (Andres), CJ Varnado, Jenna Greenberg, and Dylan Greenberg, and great-great-granddaughter, Natasha Sing. She was preceded in death by three husbands and six brothers, all of whom she missed dearly.
