Billy Guston Vaughn, 76, of Prince, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024, at Bowers Hospice in Beckley, West Virginia. Born on January 31, 1948 on Highland Mountain, he was the son of the late Willie and Flossie Vaughn. He was preceded in death by brother, Ellis Vaughn, and sisters Lucy Campbell, Ruth Farrer, and Kitty Ingles.  Billy was known for his hard-working, genuine, and tenacious nature. He was a simple man who loved his family and would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Billy retired from CSX Transportation in 2008 after 41 years of dedicated service. When not working on a train or on his many projects, he could be found hunting, fishing, walking along the New River, mushrooming, or ginsenging. Billy was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Linda Vaughn, for 57 wonderful years. He was an incredible father and father-in-law, a caring brother, a supportive Pawpaw, and a very special friend to many.  Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Linda Louise Vaughn of Prince, West Virginia; two daughters, Bethany Denise Goins (Rusty) of Catlettsburg, Kentucky and Valerie Jo Vaughn of Oak Hill, West Virginia; one son, Chris Vaughn (Megan) of Maplewood, West Virginia; granddaughters, Nicole Louise (Robby) Shivel, Kayla Marie (Travis) Trofy, Destiny Denise Goins, Nyla Grayce Vaughn; three special step-grandchildren Waylon, Cole, and Kaylee Rhodes, and two great-grandchildren, Brooks Allen Shivel and Izzy Jolee Trofy. He is also survived by four of his eight siblings, Gertrude (Gertie) Adkins, Genevieve Farley, Linda Claypool, and Louella Vaughn.  Funeral services will be held at High Lawn Funeral Home in Oak Hill, West Virginia, on Sunday, September 1st, 2024. Visitors will be accepted from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with funeral services and interment to follow.   Pallbearers will include Chris Vaughn, Rusty Goins, Travis Trofy, Robby Shivel, Teddy Neely, Bubby Farley, William Lilly, and Steve Todd.
