Charles Leonard Flint, Age 87 of Oak Hill, WV passed away, early Friday morning, February 16, 2024, at home with his wife and loved ones by his side. Charles was born on June 10, 1936 in Whittaker, WV to Cecil and Kathryn “Carrie” Flint and was 1 of 13 children.
Charles was a delivery truck driver for Purity Maid Bread for almost 30 years, in Beckley, Oak Hill and the Charleston area where he was fondly known as Chuck, the happy go lucky bread man. Chuck spent many years as a Babe Ruth baseball coach in Beckley, where he spent his evenings and weekends mentoring many teens doing what he enjoyed most, coaching baseball! Sports was always a huge part of his life as well as hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending quality time with family. Chuck was also a member of the Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church, in Oak Hill, WV.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Kathryn Flint; his son, Charles Stephen Flint; 3 brothers, Carl Flint, Walter Flint, and Frank Flint; and 2 sisters, Margaret Stephens and Dorothy Shamblin.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Dreama Amick Flint (Oak Hill, WV); a daughter, Julie Callahan (Charlotte, NC); 3 brothers, David Flint (Charleston, WV), Raymond Flint (Hudson, OH), and Virgil Flint (Cabin Creek, WV); 4 sisters, Loretta Smith (Pratt, WV), Rosie Means (Winfield, WV), Betty Jo Payne (Longs, SC), and Drema Igo (Nitro, WV); a granddaughter, Stephanie Flint (Daniels, WV); 3 great- grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews who meant the world to him.
Funeral services will be held at High Lawn Funeral Home in Oak Hill, WV on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 1 PM.
Friends may call on the family from 12pm until the time of service. Entombment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park.
