Dorothy Lou Queen

Dorothy Lou Queen, 76, passed away on September 7, 2023. She was a native of Oak Hill, WV. She passed away peacefully at home in Ivor, VA, with her daughter by her side. Dorothy was born on June 27, 1947, in Fayette County at home to the late James Lee Harrah and Imogene Mullins Harrah.
Dorothy was a CNA for many years but her most prized achievement was being a mother. She enjoyed dancing and listening to gospel and bluegrass music. Dorothy’s most treasured moments were spending time with family.
In addition to her parents Dorothy is preceded in death by her son Russell Lee Moore Jr., brothers Charles Grady Harrah and Thomas Lee Harrah.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Connie Lou Galford (Donald) of Ivor, VA, brother Eddie Harrah of Columbus, OH, granddaughter Stephanie Ann Snead (Michael) of Windsor, VA, grandson Eric Steven Galford (Ashlee) of Windsor, VA, four great-grandchildren Bradley Cole Galford, Hayslee Grace Snead, Landon Drew Galford, Alaina Page Snead, numerous nieces, nephews, and other special relatives and friends. Lastly, she will be missed by her devoted canine companion Mindy, and feline companion Rowdy.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park.
