IN LOVING MEMORY – JOHN ROBERT DUDA

John Robert Duda, age 84 of Manor Lake Memory Care Center in Ellijay, Georgia, passed away on November 2, 2023.

John was born in Whipple, WV on October 1, 1939. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Rose Duda, his loving wife of 61+ years, Donna Lou Duda, and his twin brother, Will Duda.

John and Donna had three daughters, Catherine A. (James) Nanfeldt of Orlando, FL, Deborah D. (Mike) Appa of Ellijay, GA and Donna M. (Robert) Hester of Ellijay, GA.

John loved his grandchildren Stephanie (Christian) Vale of Deltona, FL, Jennifer (Guillermo) Calderon of Mount Dora, FL, Justin (Brigitte) Wilson of San Diego, CA, Robert Hester Jr. of Woodstock, GA, Ryan Hester of Canton, GA, and Cortney (Dustin) Norton of Kingsport, TN.

John enjoyed seeing pictures and hearing stories of his many great-grandchildren Guillermo, Camila and Enrique Calderon, Aalena and Owen Wilson, Lauren Janesky and Roman Vale, and Alice and Rowan Norton.

John was proud of his work of many years as an auditor and would comment that they didn’t like to see him coming as it was his job to find issues and correct them.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years at various Catholic Churches they belonged to in Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia. He was a devout Catholic all his life and even in the end making certain his rosary was with him at all times. He managed to attend communion service twice a month at Manor Lake.

Our dad will be truly missed by all his family and many friends from throughout the years, but it is of great comfort knowing he is reunited with his beloved Donna.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 1 pm on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Good Samaritan Catholic Church in Ellijay, GA with Father Bradley Starr officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be sent in his memory to the Good Samaritan Catholic Church of Ellijay, GA at 55 N Church St, Ellijay, GA 30540.
