John Floyd Jay

John Floyd Jay, 77 of Oak Hill, WV passed away Saturday January 6, 2024 at his home. He was born July 26, 1946 in Cabin Creek, WV to John and Earnestine Gay.

Dr. Jay was a retired Professor of Engineering at West Virginia Tech and prior to that served in the US Air Force. A man of many disciplines, he enjoyed woodworking, fly fishing, working with his love of K-9s or reading a good book. He never missed a WV football game and kept up with his studies.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings James Gay, Carmen Walton and Mary Hostetter.

Those left to cherish his memory include sisters Sue & David Evans, Ann & Jeff McCormick, and Sandra Hodge along with many others as well as his best friend Louie, who will be watched over by his nephew Samuel Walton.

A graveside service will be held Friday January 12th at 1:00 pm in High Lawn Memorial Park.
