Lora Beth Ortiz (Brubaker)

Lora Beth Ortiz, age 46, of Oak Hill, WV passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Bower’s Hospice House. Lora Beth was born on March 5, 1978, in Beckley, WV at Appalachian Regional Hospital to James and Violet “Millie” Brubaker.  Lora Beth was a rehab tech at Hidden Valley Nursing and Rehab in Oak Hill, WV. She loved hiking, fishing, driving her Mustang, and walking with her dog, Gabs. She is preceded in death by her father James “Scooter” Brubaker, husband Jeff Ortiz, beloved son and love of her life Jamie McCune, and her sister Cindy Minyard. Those left to cherish her memory include her mother Violet “Millie” Brubaker, sisters Gina (David) Hunt, and Terri (Jim) Gardner, brothers J.R. (Anita) Brubaker, Lonnie (Christy) Brubaker, Curtis Miller, and Ernie (Esmeralda) Brubaker. Also left to cherish her memory is her best friend and sister by heart Angie Surface.  Private services will be held for family and friends at High Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be sent to Bower’s Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
