MARY CATHERINE POWERS

Mary Catherine (Fagg) Powers, 72, of Cunard passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at CAMC Memorial Division in Charleston following a long illness. Mary was born January 27, 1952, in Oak Hill to the late Cletis “Skeet” Fagg and Ina Mae (Carter) Fagg. Mary worked as a server/bartender throughout her adult life and spent the last 12 years at Tamarack Conference Center in Beckley. Mary retired from Tamarack in December of 2016. Mary loved her family and friends dearly, always hosting many family gatherings, going to dinner, movies, and taking vacations with her best friend Carol Horton. Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her grandson, Brandon Conley, great nephew Mason Bowyer, and many other loved ones. Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters Michelle Morton and husband Jeremy of Cunard, and Melodie Conley of Cunard, her sister Teresa Bowyer of Cunard, five grandchildren, Brittney Pannell (Daniel) of Victor, Brent Conley (Marissa) of Ohio, Kelly Morton (James Perry) of Page, Matthew Morton of Cunard, and Tommy Morton of Cunard, Three great-grandchildren Kalilah Pannell, Konnor Pannell, and Barrett Conley, Nephew Jesse Bowyer, Niece Felicia Bowyer (Josh Jones), great niece Hailey Bowyer, and three great nephews Easton Bowyer, Carter and Greyson Jones. Mary has countless other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who she loved dearly. Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 16, 2024, at High Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Ron George officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at High Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on the family from 12:00 PM until the time of service on Friday, August 16, 2024, at High Lawn Funeral Home. Family members will be serving as pallbearers.
