Michael Wayne Cobb

Michael Wayne Cobb, 77, of Oak Hill, West Virginia gained his heavenly wings on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at Bowers Hospice House. Mike was born on September 13th, 1947, in Oak Hill, West Virginia to the late John and Effie Cobb. Mike attended Beckley College in Raleigh County and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in History from West Virginia Tech in Montgomery, West Virginia. Mike spent many years as a heavy equipment operator and dedicated six years of his life to the Army National Guard. He also spent 31 years as the Fayette County Supervisor with the West Virginia Division of Highways before retiring in 2008. He loved surrounding himself with family and friends by riding side by sides, attending car shows with his wife Joyce, collecting old cars, and playing with his great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, John and Effie Cobb, Mike was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Cobb, Johnny Cobb, and Jack Cobb; and sisters, Sharon Cobb and Betty Blizzard. Mike is survived by Joyce Cobb, his wife of 49 years; his son, Michael (Robin); his daughters, Heather (Charlie) and Tami (Ben); his grandchildren, Justin, Jon Michael, Phillip, Ashley, Mikel, Peyton, and Michelle; many great-grandchildren; his brother, Ronnie Cobb; and sisters, Barbara Sergeant, Karen Price, and Kay Formulak. The family would like to thank the staff at CAMC General Neuroscience unit in Charleston WV and Bowers Hospice House for their love, compassion, and kindness. Services will be held at High Lawn Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Monday, April 7, 2025, with Pastor Mike Hicks and Pat Franklin officiating.
