Patrick was a truck driver for RC Cola in Chicago for many years. He served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist 4th class from June 30, 1969, until he was honorably discharged on January 19, 1972.
Patrick volunteered for the American Red Cross for many years. He was a Cub Master for the Cub Scouts and a Scout Master for the Boys Scouts. Patrick was a NASCAR enthusiast and attended many NASCAR races. He loved his model trains and assembled many model cars. Patrick also liked to paint, cook, bake, do puzzles, and play games on his computer. He loved to watch westerns on TV and loved all types of music.
Patrick would always say "I love me too" when you told him you loved him. He would always give you good and wise advice whether you wanted it or not. Patrick loved and adored his wife and family.
Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Roy Dougan, mother Virginia Grace, older sister, Mary and younger brother Jim Dougan; Three sons, Roy Dougan, Daniel Dougan, and Leo Bickford Jr., daughter Patricia Dougan and grandson Carter (Peanut) Buckland.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 45 years, Nancy Ann Dougan; seven daughters, Lita Underwood (Clinton), Nita Wood (Robert), Rita Hunt, Kathleen, Riyan, Rebecca, and Raemarie Dougan. three sons, Michael, Raymond, and Robert Dougan, sixteen grandchildren, Kassandra Underwood, Andrew and Patrick Crouse, Alexandra and John Patrick Fitzgerald, Nevaeh and Lee Andra Dougan, Gabbriellah, Scarlett, and Damien Cook, Samantha and Jason Dougan, Joey and Megan Rose, Elleigh Mae Grace and Emery Alexander Buckland, ten great-grandchildren, Samuel, Addalyn, Noah, Serenity, Hope, Madison, Jetta Betty, Violet, Sophia Rose, and Jonathan. brother Tom Dougan and sister Mary Vinto, and a very special sister-in-law, Kathie Pierce. Patrick was also survived by his 4 fur babies that he loved and spoiled, Duece, Dutchess, Dolly, and Baby Molly.
In keeping with Patrick's wishes, he will be cremated and an interment will be held at High Lawn Memorial Park at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 11, 2024, with Father Jojan Joseph officiating.
