Robert Lee Williams, Sr., 85, of Robson, WV passed away peacefully on July 15, 2023 at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston.
He was born June 18, 1938 in Beards Fork, WV and was the son of the late Rev. Herman Williams and Leuna E. (Murdock) Williams of Robson ,WV. He attended Open Bible Temple in Powellton, WV.
He is preceded in death by his parents the late Rev. Herman N. Williams; his mother, Leuna E. Williams (Murdock); brother, Walter Phillip (Sonny) Williams and wife, of almost 52 years, Barbara Ann (Asbury) Williams.
He worked for Allied Chemical and Armco Steele Harewood, WV Peabody Coal at Sundail, WV, Montcoal, WV, Twlight, WV, Big Mountain, Cooperston, WV, Piner Ridge, Pati Coal. He was supervisor of Prep Plants at all locations. He retired in 2000 returning to work in 2003 and worked until 2013. He truly had wonderful work ethics and loved working, coal mining, and talking about it was a highlight for him. He worked as a security guard after 2013 until 2020.
His survivors include his wife Mary Jane (Boardwine/Wood) Williams, sons, Robert Lee (Robbie) Williams, Jr. (Melissa) of Crab Orchard, Brian Keith (Kimberly) of Robson, WV, Brad Everett (Jenny) of Lookout, WV and daughter, Beverly Yvonne (Williams) Johnston (Wayne) of Page, WV. Amy Kirk (Ed) of Cross Lanes, WV, Christina (Chris) Casciani of Mt. Holly, SC., Amanda Leidner (Neil) Mulberry Grove, Illinois, two sisters, Patsy Sizemore of Beckley, WV and Phyllis James ( David) Parkersburg, WV. He had 20 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren.
He loved his family with everything that was within him Jesus, family, and work were his favorite topics and he never met a stranger and loved to travel and meet people.
Visitation for friends will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Evangelist Wayne Johnston (Son-in-law) officiating. Special condolences by Rev. Delmas Wolfe, and special condolences by Rev. Greg Hurley. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Angel, Eli Angel, Traelynd James Hicks, Jacob Johnston- great grandsons, and Lucas Kirk- grandson.
He will be carried to his place of rest Robbie Lee, Brian Keith, Brad Everett Williams- his three sons, and Robert (Jake) Johnston, Braydon "Parker" Williams - grandsons.
