Susann Hepburn Ash-Mayfield

Susann Hepburn Ash-Mayfield, 83, of Carrollton, Texas, departed her earthly life and entered her eternal home on April 13, 2023. Susann was born March 24, 1940, in Oak Hill, WV, to the late Harrison Oliver Ash, Sr., and Alfreda Brash-Ash. Susann’s brother, Harrison Oliver Ash, Jr., also preceded her in death, as did her niece Keenan Mayfield.

Susann always held the State of West Virginia dear to her heart but made Dallas, Texas, her final earthly home. She was employed by Verizon, receiving “The Presidential Award” and eventually retiring after 40-plus years of service. Susann was an avid animal lover and adopted several pets over the years. She was also an active member and volunteer at her home church, Park City Presbyterian Church (PCPC).

Susann is survived by her husband, John C. Mayfield, and his children, grandchildren, and nieces & nephew; daughter Chaille Ralph and Tom Short, along with her daughter Ashley; son and daughter-in-law, Chet and Arlene Mayfield, along with their daughters, Lauren and Emily; son and daughter-in-law Graham and Donna Mayfield, along with their children, Marcus, Sarah, Abigail, and Adam; nieces Leslie Mayfield, Loren Mayfield Sharkey, and Richard Mayfield. Susann is also survived by the daughters of her brother, Katherine “Kim” Ash Jerve, and her children Katie and Michael; Elizabeth “Bee” Ash Allen (Judson); Susann is also survived by her friends of PCPC; her friends of Emerson where she made her home, especially her special friend, Marjorie Janacek. Susann leaves behind several cousins whom she loved dearly; Garlen Mack Chase, Susan Heimann, William Brash, Sadie Brash, Diane Stanley, Suzy Adams, and a special one, Carrie Roache’, who was with her when she went to be with the Lord.

Graveside services will be held at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, WV, Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at noon. Services will be conducted by Samuel Blaylock.
