William Boyd Davis, 82, of Oak Hill passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born January 2, 1942, in Gilboa, WV he was the son of the late Emerson and Minnie Green Davis.

William was a proud United States Army Veteran and was a retired coal miner. In his leisure he enjoyed being outside in the woods exploring caves and looking old homes that were in the woods and also enjoyed fishing. He was a 17 year member of the Crossroads Apostolic Church in Bradley. he was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and brother and his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his son, Matthew Davis; and grandson, Kalib Wood.

Those left to cherish his loving memory include his loving wife who was the love of his life for 61 years, Darla Prince Davis; daughters, Tammy Morton, and Rebecca Wood (Dean); son, Willy Davis; grandchildren, Casey Wood (Sara), Jonathan Morton (Tayler), Brandon Davis, Madison Davis, Dustin Davis, Brian Gray, and Chip Davis; great grandchildren,  Nicholas Wood, Conner Morton, Cole Morton, Cohen Morton, Kynlee Morton, and Adrianna Davis.

The family would like to thank a special care giver Latia Wilson for all the compassion and support she showed the family during this difficult time.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Crossroads Apostolic Church 143 Apostolic Road Bradley WV, 25818 with Pastor Tim Vicars and Pastor Jimmy Miller officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation for friends will be one hour prior to service on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Crossroads Apostolic Church.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
