WILLIAM RUCKER DOWNS

William Rucker Downs, 89, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at home in Pikeville, North Carolina. William was born on November 2, 1934, in Washington, D. C. to the late Joeseph and Mary Downs.  William was a retired truck driver for Mining Controls and a veteran of the United States Navy.  Bill was a devout Catholic, a long-time parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Parish. He loved fishing, sports, and loved saying his Rosary. He loved his family dearly and spoke of them often.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded death by his wife, Barbara Downs; and 3 brothers, Joeseph, Jimmy, and John.  Left to cherish his memory are his sons, William Downs and Charles Downs (Danielle); and grandchildren, Michael, Andie, Andrew, Siabhan, William, and Noah.  Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, August 15, 2024 at High Lawn Funeral Home in Oak Hill, West Virginia, with Dr. Fr.
